TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Teaching is grounded in the relationship between physical sound properties and human auditory perception. The approach prioritiizes critical listening, perceptual calibration, and analytical decision-making, enabling students to develop technically precise and perceptually informed mixing strategies.

RESEARCH INTEGRATION

image_edited.jpg

The goal of education is not just to transfer knowledge, but to develop perceptual awareness and critical thinking.

- Major Mugisho

Instruction is informed by ongoing research in psychoacoustic-based mixing methodologies, including the Mugisho Perceptual Mixing Framework (MPMF). Concepts such as spectral masking, spatial distribution, and dynamic perception are integrated into practical training to enhance mix translation across listening environments.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Teaching methodology combines analytical listening exercises, real-time mix evaluation, and controlled experimentation. Students are encouraged to assess audio perception across multiple playback environments to develop consistency and translation accuracy.
